Day 46: T-6

Here we are: 62 days until 36w! Almost 2 solid months. Wow. Crazy.

This morning, Bobby decided to show us that he has a mind of his own. His heartbeat still charted 70s although we counted 130s-140s, as did our nurse. But, as she's here and we are chatting, his heartbeat went normal! Now, still only seconds at a time, but longer than before. Normal without arrythymia and charting 130s-140s-150s. The little stinker. But the moment we noticed, back to the arrythymia. As though he knew... This kid is trying to give us grays. Just trying.

Last night, our poor nurse was so freaked out by him that she called the Resident. The Resident, who knows the situation, told her that he's been doing this and that his charting was very much like his previous charting, so the half hour was fine. Well, she comes back and tells us this and then says "But I'm nervous and would like to keep him on longer." Peter and I both explained that he will just continue this pattern and that keeping him longer wont fix it (by this time it is 10pm) and that, as they get more active, he wont even stay on the monitor at all. (10pm-2am seems to be the circus time when they are absolutely insane with movement). So, she asked if we were sure we were okay with not being monitored and we said yes. I hope we didnt hurt her feelings. I told her that, if it sounded different than recent days, I'd be the first to beg to stay on the monitor but that, since he was just doing the same thing he's been doing, that I was okay with him just having his 30 minutes. But I'm not sure she was convinced. In her defense, she was our nurse the night Alexander was born and I know she has a lot of fear and concern for us. She is so sweet, a very mothering type, and Bobby's heartbeat is giving her concern.

Maya is starting to show some of her attitude also. She's getting to where, if I roll to my left (her side), and she doesnt want me to, she curls up in a hard little ball over whatever intestines and internal organs she can find and it is PAINFUL. I quickly have to change positions and then, back to normal. She's not one to have something pushed over on her! She also isnt one to be kicked without retaliation. This morning after breakfast, I was laying and talking to Peter and we laughed as Bobby delivered a kick to the left side and then, just as quickly, a huge kick went to the right side as Maya told him she wasnt taking that. My belly is just one big gym sometimes.

Well, it is lunch time... Peter just went out to find a restaraunt we located online to satisfy a craving (and I'm sure, to blow my blood sugar over the edge...). So, he should be returning soon and I should call my nurse for my pre-lunch test and insulin. Fun times...

Please stop by Heather's blog and sit with her a bit. She gave birth to her daughter, Madelyn, after bedrest and complications, and said goodbye too soon. She was 34w but her precious daughter's lungs and heart were not ready for our world. Please send her your love.

Also, my dear sweet friend (and Alexander's godmother) Terri just found out that her little ones have Swine Flu. Her whole family is sick this weekend. She hasnt blogged about it yet, but if you could send some healing thoughts their way, I'd appreciate it.

And finally, I am in search of something I remember being posted on another blog a bit ago... If you are the poster, can you help me out by sending me the post link? It was about how a mother's blood changes after a baby is born... Something about the baby's blood being integrated into the mothers? I'm probably butchering the whole thing, but this is all I can remember. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm glad you get an extra day with Peter this weekend. It's got to be nice to spend a little more time with him.

You've come so far already! I can't wait to hear about the baby shower in a few weeks!

You are doing great! Tell those babies to keep up that activity- we mommies love to feel them moving inside!

Enjoy the extra day with Peter, too! It is very stormy and rainy here, a great day for a movie... hoping you guys are snuggled up together as you enter the short countdown to 28 weeks. You are ALLLLMOST THERE!!!

Of course, we are both heading into October easily, but each passing day and week feel like such a gift. :)

Was it was Holly from Missing Gregory who mentioned something like that about the mother always having part of the baby with her? I might be wrong though. I didn't go back and look that up, but I do remember reading it somewhere. I hope that's the one. I'm glad that things are going ok for you so far. Keep that gymnasium rockin!

Michele, thanks so much for sending people my way. I have had several people come and offer words of comfort as a result. It really means a lot to see how many people care, but it also breaks my heart to realize just how many people have to go through this. I trust in God, but I don't think I will ever understand why these things happen.
