Sleep is a good thing...

I do have pictures to upload, which I promise to do this week (they are on Peter's phone and, honestly, I'm not exactly sure where that is!)

The weekend was fine. Maya was the talk of the NICU in her pink and brown doggie outfit (picked out by Auntie Meg because Mommy has absolutely no fashion sense whatsoever). The next day, we heard all about nurses being called over to look at how cute she was. And sweet little Bobby was in an outfit all the way from England! And he looked very handsome. Both babies were doing very well. They are becoming very alert during their care times and when being held. Both nurse really well, and the NPs tell us that this is great given their age. Saturday, they would have hit 31 gestational weeks. Starting this coming Saturday, they may start moving them towards bottle/breast feeding instead of via the tube. I dont remember if the nurse said 32 weeks or 34 weeks... Some of the details are fuzzy in the middle of the night...

This weekend, I caught up on some much needed sleep. The downside of living in my 3 hour cycles is that I dont get more than a few hours of sleep a night (when I let myself get up without an alarm, which ends up being about 3-4 hours after I go to bed, LOL!) So, last night, it was nearly 2am when I came to bed and I woke up just shy of 6am. This is a "long stretch" of sleep. As you can figure, going all day on 4 hours doesnt exactly bode well for not being tired. Some days, I have to nap when I come home in the afternoon; I'm just too tired not to. That hour or ninety minutes is so helpful. So, this weekend, I slept a lot. I still was up super early before Peter and stayed awake after pumping (and got stuff done), but I slept on the way home from the hospital and after pumping. I would come in from the car and just pass out on the couch. I slept 2 four hour stretches in the middle of the day. This was nice from of sleep point of view, but no blogging or housework or anything else got done!

Well, the week is back, so I will try to make sure to blog and email during pump times. Today isnt going to happen because we have the NICU fundraising dinner tonight, so we are rearranging our care times and doing the dinner. S0, probably no official NICU posting today; we shall see how much time I manage to squeak out...

Take care of yourself first and foremost. The fatigue is something else isn't it?
Thinking of you and ALL your precious babies Michele and sending love as always xxxx

Sounds like they are doing so well...Mommy needs to keep up her sleep too. :) I look forward to the pics when you have time to put them up. :)

The sleep issue sounds like a mommy with new living babies! Soon they will be home and you will only sleep when they are sleeping. (at least that's what I've been told). GREAT NEWS on Bobby and Maya!

Wipes happy tears. You scared me lady. No posts when you usually do. I don't usually get up at 7 am (cold, headache, from florida so not used to heater noises and if the gas is messing up et) and straight for your blog.

I bet every one is with me on this. Could you post one sentence when you can't post? Like Hey world, were fine? :o) Or get a twitter. And then you can post 140 Characters and no one expects more. And yeah, these are just wishes, you do as you can. I will keep refreshing on those days you can't get here. Hugest hugs. Loved the post of just normal. Glad your resting. xoxo, Kandi Ann

I hope you can get more rest this week! Don't worry about housework yet - you've still got a lot on your plate with two little ones to take care of.

Enjoy your dinner tonight. It is so wonderful that they are doing so well. My family will ask me "how are Michele's kids doing?"
Looking forward to more pictures.
Rest up as often as you can.
