PuertoRican Food

Let it never be said that these kids dont like to get in touch with their Puerto Rican roots.  One of their favorite foods (and it's a complete protein too!) is rice & beans (okay, so it's 2 foods but they are served as 1 in our house).  I make them once or twice a month and they are a staple of Nicholas's birthday meal.  In addition to being a dinner winner, they also make lunchtime fun.  Today, in lieu of their sandwich, they had some leftover rice and beans (and yellow cornbread, too!).  Normally, lunch is not a messy activity, but today... All bets were off!

They both needed shirt changes before they passed out for their daily nap.  (With the way Mommy is feeling with all this fun CD3 funkiness, perhaps a nap wouldnt be a bad idea for me!  Of course, who will clean up the rice and beans from the floor???)
