The date for the cerclage has been set: Tuesday, May 19th. My heart is pounding and I feel sick to my stomach. That's 2 weeks from today. The nurse said that my surgery is scheduled for 9am and that I should check into the surgery center at 7:30am. I have to call tomorrow and set up my "pre-admission testing", which will take place prior to my surgery date. I am so nervous. Even though Dr. Bailey has gone through everything step-by-step, and we will see him this Thursday and next Thursday prior to the surgery, I am still so nervous. I feel like I have an understanding of what is going to happen and what the desired outcome is, but my fear of the whole thing (and, subconsciously, the fear that it wont work) are under my skin in the worst way.
We were hoping to go away for our "babymoon" to Virginia prior to the surgery. At this point, if we left on next Thursday and drove down after our appointment, we'd only really get to stay the weekend, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It's five hours each way. I called Peter and left him a message, asking what he'd like to do. Do we pick somewhere local to enjoy a few days?
Not sure yet...
But, we have a date. Whatever you do, be it pray, light candles, chant incantations or anything inbetween, please do it for us on the 19th. We can use all the help we can get.
I'll be thinking of you and your family over these next weeks and wishing you the best with the cerclage and the continuing pregnancy.
Thank you for sharing the stories of your children, it is so clear that they are much loved. I'm so sorry for your losses.
I'll be thinking of you until then!
I hope you and DH can find some time to get away. Even if it's to the next town for a night or two. It's always good to have some time to yourselves.
I'm so glad this is scheduled! I will be thinking of you, and I hope the day passes easily and you can feel a little more secure.
Your wish is my command!
thinking of you and we'll be lighting a candle for you on the 19th!
My cousin lost her first son at 20 weeks so the next pregnancy she had the same surgery you are having. At 37 weeks they removed the stitches and told her she would most likely go into labor within 24 hrs...she went a week over her due date.I will be praying for you and "The Girls":)Michele
Glad to hear a date is set. How come I thought you have been there done that with this before??
Honestly, my ability to pray has diminished with each subsequent death of my babies...but I will be thinking of you, your little ones and hubby, and hoping that the stitch works and your little ones are born safe and healthy because of the cerclage.
I can only imagine how nervous you are!! I would be too. I can tell you have faith, so I don't feel like a jackass for telling you "have some faith". I will be checking in for updates. Take care and look after yourselves... x
wow.. i pray for your successful surgery.. your little girls.. (maybe.. i think she is right - they look like girls to me. :)) are going to be safe inside there..
Consider the candle lit, the novena said (and I havent said one n a looooong time) the fingers crossed and the lucky knickers on!
Hey Michele - You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
You can do it lady. You'll get through this day at a time.
Hope you enjoy your time away
Hope all is well.
