We had Maya's eye appt today and the retinologist gave her a great review! He said that she looks just as he'd hoped and that we dont have to return for 3 months!!! She is also cleared to visit the ophthalmologist with Bobby. I'm going to call Dr L (who will see Bobby next week) and ask if he wants to see Maya at the same time or if we should make her first appt and Bobby's next one (which will be in 3 months). We also went to the pediatrician for their Prevnar injection. I dont think it will ever NOT hurt to watch them get a shot, to watch their little eyes go from happy world to shock and then the cry of WHATTHEHELLJUSTHAPPENED!!!! It hurts me more than them!

I made a yummy dinner tonight of salad and baked yams topped with salmon. As Peter and I sat down, in the dining room no less, with a glass of wine and the Christmas tree twinkling in the background, while Bobby and Maya amused themselves, the song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" came on. At the line "Through the years we all will be together if the fates allow...", I found myself overcome with emotion. We all will be together... If only it were the fates I were fighting. If only... If... Through the years we will only all be together in my memories.

My mother-in-law found the outfits that both Peter and his brother were baptized in. We'd hoped to put Bobby in Peter's after the Christening, but our big boy is, well, big! So, instead he will wear his Uncle Robert's on Christmas Eve and his daddy's on Christmas. They are cute little suits. I will post pictures. (Maya doesnt have hand-me-downs but has two adorable little dresses!)

My heart is heavy tonight for dear Sarah at Dreams and False Alarms. Please stop by and show her some love.

At least you tried today. It will take awhile, don't ever give up.
I love that you sat in the dining room for dinner. I have to tell you that song is one of the ones that I want played when I die. I want everyone to know that we will be together again. It's a great song. I did go over to visit with
Sarah.
Just getting out there and getting started on the exercise is a huge first step! Plus, think about how quickly you will see improvements. ;) That should help to keep you motivated.
You've got to start somewhere! Give yourself a little credit for getting there in the first place :)
I can imagine it's hard to be away from your little ones.
I'd call 25 minutes a good workout. Definitely!
Hi Michele,
Long time I haven't commented on your post, but I'm always following it. It's great hearing that Bobby and Maya continue to thrive and are doing well. I went to your other blog with all your pics and is it me or does Maya really like nuzzling up to Bobby's arm? Such a princess already, under the sheltered protection of her big brother. So nice hearing of your Christmas dinner with your husband. It's so hard to sit and eat together here, usually one eats and the other watches the baby or feeds him. Good for you. Merry Christmas!!
oh Michele, give your body a chance. You will get where you want to be. :)
You are right you will all be together one day. Sweet post. *hugs*
I love the pool. I wish I had one at home! Your dinner description brought tears to my eyes..good tears.
25 minutes in the pool is great!! Don't be discouraged -- you'll be feeling better and noticing results in no time.
It's so awesome that you got through 25 minutes - water workouts are so much more intense! The first time I started riding my exercise bike after a loooong sabbatical, I thought my legs were going to fall off. I got used to it, but have a feeling that I'm going to be in for a trial when I am able to exercise again - I'm sure the coming weeks will be better for you!
Congrats on Maya's eye appointment! That's awesome!
I could never swim for that long! Never. I think it's an amazing feat. Good job!
Peace, my friend.
commenting on a few posts, all here. thinking of sophia and nicholas, and with that picture of maya, what a beauty. how wonderful it will be to tell her as she grows that she has the same eyes as her sister. i am proud of you for going to the pool. we all start somewhere, and your starting point in the pool is much further than mine would have been.
