Reaching Out

Kids are screaming and their is puke all over the living room.  And I needed to step away from the situation and have a break.  Maya wants to be held; Bobby just puked all over himself, his exersaucer, and the floor because he thinks it is funny to stick his fingers down his throat and make that gagging noise we all hate.  And, because I need to strip/bathe a baby and clean the floor, no one is happy. I tried calling Sarah and my MIL, but no one answered, so before melting down completely, I decided to just take a second out, put them in the playpen, and take a breather.  No one will die from the smell of vomit for this one second that I put myself in time out...

Ah... That's better... Time to go stop the washing machine from ending up across the room because a comforter is in it and to clean up the nauseating substance in my living room.

Oh Michele. I wish I could just step across continents somehow and come and help you out. I'm ace at cleaning up vomit, I've had loads of practice with J.

Keep remembering to take those breathers my dear. You are right, the kids are safe and the smell of vomit will not harm them. Just have your time out, take a deep breath and start over.

Much love xo

Aww. I was just reading about your tri, and then came back to see this! I hope the babes mellow out and you get some peace.

I hear ya. Don't have twins, of course. But I have a Sneak Puker in my Peanut. And Lil Pumpkin LOVES to time her meltdowns accordingly.

Do you have any alcohol in the house? I invoke "it's happy hour somewhere" during these moments.

No fun, just step away that is all you can do. I would help you if I lived closer. Hope the rest of your day gets better. ((HUGS))

Good for you for taking a breather.

Hope Bobby knocks off the self-induced puking soon!

oh Michelle I wished I lived near enough to help ya !! You're an amazing woman and an awesome mommy. I didn't get to be with my oldest boys at this stage but they were ages 1=2& 4and they never sto testing my patience.
Hope Bobby gets thru this stage soon.

I am sorry M! That stinks! (sorry, I just couldn't help it. tee hee)
I think you are fine to step away and take a breather. The smell of vomit hasn't harmed a child yet.
Keep up the good work sweetie!!!

Your time out was a great idea and necessary! When I wash something big like that I usually use the gentle cycle, it still gets clean but doesn't jump the machine as much!
