Maya's Sick :(

Maya's been running a fever since last night.  It started out around 100, got up to 101.5 overnight, then back down to 101.1 until up to 101.8 around 3pm today.  I thought she might be coming off of it, when it registered 98.8, but alas, it is now up to 101.9 (as of 2 hours ago).  No other symptoms, except she wants to snuggle and sleep (just like Daddy when he is sick!).

I called the doctor this morning and they said to not worry about bringing her in unless it hit 105 -or- she had a low grade all weekend.  105?  Wow...  I was thinking, like, 102.  (And even then... I wanted to bring her in at 100- paranoid, I know...)  (Here's some info on fevers, etc, for those who are interested; also here and here)

So, if you could, please keep my sweet baby girl in your thoughts and prayers.  Hopefully this is just teething related and not a real sickness coming on.

It's so scary when kids get sick. Jess ran fevers when she was teething. Hoping that's all it is for Maya and that she's feeling better soon.

the drs said the same thing to me when Aly had a moderate fever. UNLESS, she is lethargic or grey and pail looking ... you need not worry about a temp of 101 ... just do what you can to bring it down and give her extra love :)
hope she gets better soon ...

Thats about what both my boys had when they were teething right before the tooth popped up. if she's not acting fussy but you want to cool her down look warm wash cloths have always worked really well for us. i hope she gets better soon and doesn't get any sicker.

My pedi said 104, too, and it totally upset me! I would have asked to take DS in at 101 if it hadn't been the weekend. . . GL sweet Maya!

They say that even for 4 and 5 mo olds if that makes you feel better. They say the fever is a good thing since it kills the infection she's got. It doesn't hurt the brain until 108 or something like that???

If she starts getting really grumpy and crying, take her in. It could be an ear infection. Actually, if it still continues for another day I'd get her ears checked...to be on the safe side.
