They Sleep Where???

I've had a couple of comments and emails, asking if the kids sleep in twin size beds.  The answer is yes.  We do not have sides up on the beds yet (although we will soon) because they sleep in bolsters.  A friend of ours made this nifty thing to transform any bed into an infant-friendly bed, and it works great because they have the freedom to move without the ability to roll off the bed.  Imagine a towel with a bolster sewed in other end.  The weight of the baby keeps them from being able to move it off.  Then, they have a pillow at the top and the bottom, for added security, and a blanket over them, to keep them warm.

But yes, they sleep in twin beds and not a crib.  Although we still use the crib for naps.

And that being said... a certain little boy needs a nap...

Good luck with that in a few months:) I have a feeling you'll be using your cribs more then(toddlers LOVE climbing in and out of bed!)
The rooms are adorable!

I like the idea. It makes for a much cuter room. But what will you do when they begin to roll around more? I wake up every morning to my nine month old holding onto the side of her crib, and jumping up and down! I am just interested...

hey I've got to ask how come the hurry for big beds? I don't understand remembering back to when my kids were babies and putting them down for naps/bed time sometimes they were so tired they would fight their sleep and I needed the crib. What will keep them in bed when they start walking? They dont always understand how much they need their bed time in the frist two years. I dont want you to think Im saying how you should do it but even bed time can be hard some nights. please take this as only advice

I'd love to see some close-ups of those bolsters...

what a neat idea. I have never heard of bolsters before.

The rooms look adorable. Jess climbed out of her crib the first time I put her in it (17 months). I bought a toddler bed the next day. I needed something I felt safe with her climbing in and out of and twin beds were just too high.

we did the same thing. the kids rarely slept in their cribs but learned that bed time was bed time. they never got up and when they did just putting them back in bed kept them there. so i wouldn't worry about what happens if they get out of bed. :)
