Learning to breathe again after the deaths of my twins, Nicholas & Sophia, my son, Alexander, and 6 miscarriages... and finding joy on the journey with my sweet preemie twins, Bobby & Maya, and our miracle TAC singletons, Michael, Lucas, and Ana.
Interesting study. Since only a proportion of women with PCOS have insulin resistance, I wonder if these effects are only probable with them. As for its use to increase chances of conception, it doesn't look like this was addressed in this study. I'm not sure if REs would considering this for women actively TTC- statins as a group are contraindicated during pregnancy, as they can cause serious birth defects.
It is interesting. I agree; I dont think they'd be useful for pregnancy issues. However, I dont have insulin resistance (outside of pregnancy it seems) but my cholesterol is through the roof. We're wondering if statins could help lower cholesterol and mitigate some of the other unpleasant PCOS symptoms. Time will tell, I suppose!
